That house, located at 6017 Kemp Drive in Acworth, is for Angela Scheitlin and her two kids, William (age 9) and Zoey (age 8). They are members of North Metro Church were they attend regularly. They will be helping us complete their home in time for the dedication on July 15, 2017. Click on their photo for more details. Release forms

There are no longer paper waiver forms for adults as it is all done online. There is a waiver box to check when you register online to work on a build project and to sign up for a particular date. Our two build projects will require separate registration and sign-up. The two processes are slightly different and each will require a separate userid and password which can be re-used in future years. Below are links to download instructions for each of the two build sites. Note that if you only plan to work at one of the two sites, you need only register for that site.

NW Metro Atlanta Registration & Sign-Up Instructions. This is needed to participate in the Kennesaw Build on 3/25/2017.

North Central Georgia Registration and Sign-Up Instructions. This is needed to participate in the Acworth Build for the Scheitlin Family April 1 - June 15, 2017.

General Build Information

DRESS: Wear work boots or sturdy gym shoes; jeans or work clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a hat and wear sunscreen. Loose fitting clothing should be avoided because they can catch on ladders or tools.

WHAT DO YOU BRING?: Bring work gloves, hammer, measuring tape, pencil, tool belt and nail apron if you have them. Put your name on anything you want to be sure to get back. Some tools will be available there, but if you have your own, it saves you from the possibility of there not being enough to go around. Breakfast will be provided for all participants starting at 7:30 am. Lunch will be provided at noon. Water will be available throughout the day at the site.

BE SAFETY CONSCIOUS!! If you ever have safety questions concerning a task assigned to you, please talk to the house leader or a crew leader. Look before you hammer! Being accidentally hit or hitting someone else with a hammer can be avoided if we are aware of those around us. Only lift loads that you feel comfortable with and use your legs instead of your back. With so many volunteers on site, there are always enough hands to help out. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day. If you have waited until you are actually thirsty, it is too late! Be aware of your body’s response to high humidity and heat. Do not overwork yourself and rest as needed.

CANCELLATIONS: If you need to cancel or change dates, there are instrutions for doing so in the online signup instructions above. If the weather is so bad that you don’t want to work, don’t go. Otherwise, if it is unpleasant but tolerable, work will be going on.
